In 2009, the City of Manhattan contracted Walters-Morgan Construction, Inc. to upgrade their 8.7 million gallons per day plant to 11 million gallons per day, and to also conform the plant to meet new regulatory requirements. Construction of the $23,700,000 plant began in March 2010 and was completed in December 2013.

New selector basin
Two new aeration basins
New blower building
Three new final basins
New MLR/RAS pump station
New peak flow holding basin
Upgrades to the UV system
