Skilled Laborer

Description 

Walters-Morgan is a general contractor based out of Manhattan, KS that specializes in building water and wastewater treatment plants and facilities.  We self-perform a good majority of the work and involves anything from concrete forming, pouring, and finishing, to underground pipe installation, excavations, pump and other mechanical equipment installations, and more.

We have openings for skilled laborers for the right people – hopefully a career that will last a lifetime. This position offers health insurance the first of the month after hire.

Experience: 2-5 years

• Concrete forming and finishing experience such as foundations, walls, slabs, columns, elevated decks, etc.
• Concrete demolition and removal experience
• Mechanical equipment installation experience
• Pipe installation experience, underground, stormwater, flanged pipe, pre-fab, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, set up and operation of layout equipment
• Erection of temporary scaffolding and ladders needed to build structures
• Operating equipment such as wheel loaders, skid loaders, compactors, & more
• Rigging as necessary for movement of materials & equipment
• Spreading of gravel and concrete as needed
• Assist other personnel with job requirements as needed

General requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Climbing up and down ladders
• Ability to lift objects that weigh 50 +/- lbs.
• Bending, squatting, kneeling, and operating tools/equipment.
• Must have reliable transportation or travel arrangements
• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
• Willingness to learn and be flexible
• Verifiable references required
